Pakkingen (of afdichtingen) zorgen ervoor dat twee onderdelen lekvrij kunnen worden samengevoegd. Dit kunnen zowel onderdelen zijn van dezelfde materiaalsoort alsook van twee verschillende materiaalsoorten. De meest courante koppakking is een MLS pakking, die uit meerdere staallagen bestaat. Afhankelijk van de onderdelen en de toepassing wordt het materiaal gekozen, zoals een rubber pakking. Naast rubber afdichtingen bieden wij ook pakkingen van aluminium, kurk of papier. Het laatste materiaal verkopen wij ook als pakkingplaat, zodat u een pakking naar eigen vorm uitsnijden. |

Head gasket
The cylinder head gasket, also called a head gasket, is mounted between the rotating part of the engine block (bottom block) and the cylinder head. The head gasket provides a seal between the cylinders and seals the oil coolant ducts. In the event of a defective head gasket, oil can get to the coolant and/or there is a loss of compression because the cylinders are no longer sealed off from each other. This can be identified by smoke from the exhaust because oil and coolant are mixed, reduced compression and/or external leakage at the cylinder head, or overpressure in the cooling system.
When replacing the head gasket, it is necessary to determine the cause of the defect. In addition, the surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder head must be perfectly flat and free from defects before fitting a new head gasket.
